LIFEPAK CR2 replacement battery – questions
Which AED does this battery fit?
The Physio-Control / Stryker LIFEPAK CR2 only. It is not compatible with the LIFEPAK CR Plus, LIFEPAK EXPRESS or LIFEPAK 1000, which use different batteries.
How long does the battery last?
In standby, a new battery powers a CR2 that is not in use for about 4 years (with daily self-tests). Capacity is rated at 166 shocks at 200 J or 103 shocks at 360 J, or about 800 minutes of operating time (at 68 °F). Replace it when the device indicates low battery, after a rescue, or at the replace-by date on the label.
Do I need a prescription to buy a replacement battery?
No prescription is needed for replacement batteries or electrodes. The LIFEPAK CR2 defibrillator itself is a prescription device in the U.S.
How do I replace it?
Open the lid, press the battery release, slide the used battery out, insert the new one until it clicks, close the lid and confirm the readiness indicator. The full procedure is in the LIFEPAK CR2 operating instructions. Dispose of the lithium battery according to local rules.
