Automated external defibrillators
LIFEPAK CR2 AEDs for workplaces, schools and public places
Sudden cardiac arrest is survivable when a bystander starts CPR and uses an automated external defibrillator within the first minutes. The Physio-Control / Stryker LIFEPAK CR2 guides untrained rescuers with voice prompts, analyzes the rhythm during CPR, and offers a child mode without separate pads. We carry the CR2 in semi-automatic and fully automatic versions, with USB or Wi-Fi connectivity, in English or bilingual English/Spanish.
AEDs are FDA-regulated medical devices approved through premarket approval; in the United States most AEDs are prescription devices, and our team confirms the authorization requirement after checkout. Complete your program with replacement batteries and electrodes, an alarmed wall cabinet, signage and a monthly inspection log. Several states require AEDs in schools, health clubs or large public buildings and set rules for registration and training; check your state program before you install.

Buying an AED – questions
Does OSHA require an AED?
No federal OSHA standard requires AEDs in general industry; OSHA encourages them. Requirements come from state laws for specific settings and from insurers or industry programs.
Semi-automatic or fully automatic?
Both only shock when the rhythm calls for it. Semi-automatic units ask the rescuer to press the button; fully automatic units shock after a countdown. Trained-responder sites often pick semi-automatic; public-access programs often pick fully automatic.
What maintenance does an AED need?
A monthly visual check of the readiness indicator, battery and electrode dates; replacement of electrodes after use or at expiry; battery replacement when indicated (about four years in standby for the CR2). Wi-Fi models report readiness remotely.
Do I need a prescription?
In the United States most AEDs, including the LIFEPAK CR2, are prescription devices. We confirm the authorization requirement with you after checkout. Replacement batteries and electrodes do not need a prescription.
